Varsity Golf Shows Promising Signs For
An Undefeated Season
Having lost only one member from last year's squad, the 1970 golf team, again coached by the Reverend Paul Hebberger, showed promising signs for a victorious seasons. Veterans Baron Currin, Bill Duff, Sam Guerin, Charlie Johnson, Lawrence Hicks, Neal Partrick, and Cac Hoyle again served as the main bulwark of strength, while freshman newcomers Stuart Scott and Woody Warren added their own brands of excellence. With seven matches scheduled, including a tough opening tri-match with arch-rivals E. C. Glass High School and Woodberry Forest School, the possibility of an undefeated season appeared likely.
Alternating at the number one spot are Bill Duff and Baron Currin.
The golf team usually practiced at Colonial Hills Country Club, but O h some afternoons the players, such as Charlie Johnson, Neal Partrick and Sam Guerin, hit a few on the back campus.
