Science at VES is directed toward giving all students a basic understanding of the physical sciences. The pre- sent state of technology in our society makes it impera- tive that our graduates have an understanding of their physical world, so that they may make knowledgeable decisions on important issues. Our curriculum includes earth science, biology, chemistry, and physics, as well as advanced placement courses. The courses are presented by the department chairman, Mr. Kehrer, and Messrs. Daugherty, McLaughlin, Jenkins, and Hudgins. Each teacher makes a dedicated effort to enable each student to realize his potential in the science field through the classroom, the laboratory, the computer, and personal contact.
