stay here and help run the VES sports camp. After he is settled down in North Carolina, he hopes to attend graduate school next year and may consider going into the ministry.
Mr. Elliott said when inter- viewed, "Just tell them I'm leaving!"
The METEOR staff joins the VES community in wishing these
faculty members well in their new endeavors, and to let them know that they will be missed here in their various capacities.

have to make up their mind
whether or not they want to
return the following year. This year we have three teachers
who have decided to depart from the VES faculty. They are: Mr. Graham Hudgins, Mr. George

Other than being involved with work, Mr. Hudgins hopes to spend more time with his family and wants to become more involved in church related activities.
Mr. Berry is moving back to Charlotte, North Carolina, where he is originally from. He will be teaching at Charlotte Christian Academy. This summer he will

A group of sleepy students awaited the van on the steps of Jetton Sunday, May 8th. It was 2 a.m. and in six hours these students would be in W est Virginia preparing to start their journey down the New River.
The group was led by Mr. Smith and the Rev. Eade who were both excited but desperately wanting to get back to sleep on the van.
The group arrived at the raft · company's office at six a.m., two hours before they had to go on the river. It was cold and rainy when 8 o'clock finally came and the students put on their wet auits to ward off the cold river
water.

approximately 7 hours with a terrific lunch served along the way. Two enjoyable parts of the journey were "Jump Off Rock" and "Swimmer's Rapid", where the students who wished to could go swimming in the freezing water. Most of the students got into the water, but they were unable to convince Mr. Smith to come with them. However, Gene Grant did soak Mr. Smith while bailing the boat. Luckily, no one
fell off the boat, although Lance Stewart had a close call.
Overall, it was a very enjoy- able trip and well worth the
of sleep. Mr. Smith is planning ot take a group down the Gauley River next year which ehould prove to be just u exciting!
