All Prep?!? A little push?? 0
This fall's J.V . soccer team was truly one of the best displays of athletic devotion that V.E.S. has seen in many years. With a 10-1 record the J.V. soccer team has become the most successful team
in almost a decade. With an impressive first win over Hill City Soccer Club by a score of 2-1 the team went on to have a thoroughly dominating hold over the league. Under the leadership of the tri-captains Mike Taylor, Tripp Edwards and Scott Simin-
son the team seemed to show an amazing form of unity which was perhaps the key to their success. Coaches Leake and Goodnow were also definately major con-
tributors to the teams success teaching the players the essen- tial characteristics and goals
-
needed in any successful team. The team did suffer one to Prince Edwards Academy, but this dis- appointing upset did not hamper
the success of the rest of the season. Perhaps the last great finish to the almost perfect season was the decisive 3-0 vic·
tory over Woodberry. The J.V. soccer team has given new hope to the athletic program at V.E.S. and it seems that the young team will be stung again next year with only four junior on the
team: Tripp Edwards, Jay Jack son, John Milby, and Rick D h nert. Hopefully som of th winter teams will folio~ th good example et by the J.\". soccer team which deserve a great d al ofcongradulation •
