After seeing these boys in such teuible shape, I decided to go on my own to try and find out how people think their
chances to get in really are. Cam Evans commented, "Well once the Cameron Evans Mem- orial Gymnasium is completed, I feel my chances are very good." Then I ask how his chances are now until the building starts and he said,

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is a very unique place. The reason I call it unique is because this
institution will shape some of our lives for the years to come. The only problem is the fact that a few of us still don't know whether or not we will get in.
All of the students who applied to U.N.C. from V.E.S. have been deferred. This means the admissions depart- ment wants to know how we'll do the rest of the year here
before making a decision. Well, all some of us can do is sit back and wait, and if we don't get in, well maybe we can quit school to start making our living working as a potato fa1mer
somewhere in the mid-west. Some of us will be forced into suicid while others might become town drunks all over North Carolina.
