VARSITY GOLF
The golf team had its second tough year facing some very strong opponents both in and out of the league. Our record of 4-10 gave us a weak start in the Prep League Tournament, but we were able to place seventh in overall competition.
We had a first for the team and School this year as we welcomed our first female- Michele Mason- to the school's first co-ed team sport. This is also the first time that a freshman - David Rizzo - was a medalist in a match, and he was the recipient of this distinction on three occasions.
This year we say farewell to valuable players in co- captains Chris Hutter and Hunter Blount. We will miss their contributions to the team next year.
Varsity letter winners must be medalists (top scorers) in at least three season matches. Chris Hutter, Hunter Blount, CS Morris, and David Rizzo will receive these certificates.
JV letter winners were awarded to Michele Mason, Warren Holmes, and Eddie Bell for their contributions
as they each qualified in the top six in a number of matches.
The Spirit and Sportsmanship award went to a player who has been with the team since the 9th grade, and in spite of the legendary ire he provoked in Mac for dip- ping on one trip, he does exemplify the composure, fairness, and deportment on the course which makes this the last "gentleman's game" - Chris Hutter.
The recipients of the MVP awards were in a tie for the position during the regular season. Both were medalists in three matches, and their scores were the low for VES in the tournament. These two gentlemen take their golf seriously although one has an abiding outside interest in wave-riding. This year's recipients are Hunter Blount and CS Morris.
We look forward to a better season next year with the return of Morrfs, Rizzo, Holmes, Mason, and Bell. With the addition of some new talent, we will hope for enough depth to make next year a winning season.

GIRLS' TENNIS
With a 4-3 record in the LIS Tournament, this year's girls' ten- nis team was a great improvement over years' past. #1 seed Sharon Sheperdson was undefeated for the regular season. She was also first place in the tournament.
In the LIS Tournament, #2 Kim Gay won third place, #3 Christian Lewis won fourth place, #4 Kate Mauldin won third place, and #6 Nicole Salem won fifth.
