Well let me wipe my hands and get started. Don't worry, I'm definitely leaving some dirt under my fingernails for always and ever. I can honestly say that VES has made me who I am today. And by VES I mean the people that make up this haven. Thank you to.The obvious ones: my parents. From the beginning, they have been there selflessly for me. I can't count how many unlocked doors for late night returns-how many hours of trial prep traded for away games-it took for me to truly appreciate all they have done for me. :My little brother Bryson. From having pun wars at 10:30 (rebels without a cause) to snuggling together watching Phineas and Ferb, he has been my secret best friend this whole time. To Mr. Garmey, I don't know if you've heard, but I've adopted you as my grandfather. To Mrs. Csatlos, your care and understanding has made you the world's best advisor and college counselor ever. To Mrs. Button, there's no way I could be the same person or have the same future without you. To Mr. Hanning, you rock my mid-calf bball socks off. We need to take a surprise Dr. Ho's run sometime. But maybe first I should invest in a quality brown paper bag. To Mr. Knebel, if I turn out to be an English teacher, I want to be like you. Thank you for introducing me to such cool kids as Joyce and Sterne. You've shown me how much there is you can do with words. Banana strings forever. To Mr. LaFreniere, you rock. With tats, gauge scars, and a love of indie movies, how could we not get along? I will follow Wes Anderson and poetry to the ends of the earth because of you. To Mr. Bonner, APES trip, Guadeloupe 2012, Shadowfax, prank wars. Why are you so cool? To Dr. Knebel, you're hugs are some of the best in the world. Thank you a thousand fold to: the Wednesday lunch pranksters, the cuddly hippie who loves Urban, TDCC, H20, nonconformist moons, Dreamlife, and inspirational quotes, my #geekstatus children-Mama's here, Nina and her friends, that girl who is the ribbed tank to my high-waisted jean shorts, Guys and Dolls performers, my very special Jenna-Bennena-1 owe you a cupcake, conversations I don't understand because they're either about Community or Portlandia, Mr. #mancrushmonday-"llike, I mean I love you,· that girl who asked for a shout out-this MM is for you, secret Floverfelt rantings and calf discussions in Donut Club meetings, the best advisory two years running, the seniors of 2011 and 2012, GUADELOUPE 2012, Creepy Club members, any survivors of JV Girl's Basketball 2009-10, anybody who thinks Macklemore Monday will become a thing, accidental heart-to-hearts, the other bittersweet senior-you're clutch, the kid who's not good at anything-you're a pretty great shagger, those crazy girls who have synesthesia too, that girl who always sleeps-now let me wipe my eyes and finish; to anyone who has ever called themself a Bishop:
"We are all a little weird and life is a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love." - Theodor Seuss Geisel
Thank you Mom and Dad for giving me the opportunity of going to VES. I know I don't say it a whole lot but I love both of you. Mary, thank you for helping me with all the editing on my papers and with all of my college applications. To one of my favorite teachers of all time Coach Ross, thank you so much for being there for me on just about everything I've done over my four years at VES. Those three years of Basketball were some of the best times I've ever had playing the game. Those two Conference Championships were amazing, its too bad we lost by two my freshman year in the Championship. If I ever get a hole-in-one, you will be among the first I call to tell you. (By the way we need to fish sometime.) The golf team was also something I will never forget. That state championship was so close. Kyle, Parks, Notario, JJ, Fu, Quyiuan, Russ, and McGuire, senior year golf wouldn't be the same without you all. I will never forget the forgotten five. (Jay, Wyatt, Gojko, Tim, and Joe) those road trips for away games were so clutch. I'll never forget that one episode of World's worst airports we watched that one night. Mr. Garmey you are clinically insane but an awesome History teacher. Bonner those two trips to Guadeloupe were amazing, the hackmosphere was perfect after seated lunches, and I hope the bro team never disbands. (Cheese master (Bonner), El Captian (Me), Squid (Kelvin), Muscles (Charles), and the Face (Nic). Parks, ever since that one-day freshman year we had when were shooting some hoops down in Van Avery and we departed ways after going to the bookstore, I knew we were going to be great friends. Our numerous shenanigans, car rides, and HQS were a must. Team America cannot lose at anything, we are destined for greatness, sick of these boys testin me. Wyatt, grades K-12 wouldn't have been the same without you. Playing Call Of Duty and Black Ops with Christian were so freaking fun. Michael our fishing extravagances, weight lifting jam sessions, and bro time were so fun. Hang in there man, one more year. Lee, Wood, Brenden, and Kelvin, C- Period jam sessions were exactly what I needed everyday. I will always think of our sessions if I ever hear Thrift Shop Obama version, Danger Zone, or Rolling Stones. By the way he aint leakin, he pouring. Anthony, Tre, Aaron, Skye, Gojko, and Jay please get that butt next year and win states. Wish we could've gotten it this year but I know you all will get it. Marjorie, Mehegan, Caroline, and MK that Guadeloupe trip will never be forgotten. Sorry if I didn't put you in here because I ran out of room but to the underclassmen Kyle, Jay, Michael, Aaron, Anthony, Charles, Holt, Ella, Mandi, Ronnie, Tee, Peyton, Taylor, Caroline, Russ, and Gus hang in there, It'll be worth it in the end.
