My first memory of VES is from middle school, best friends with Victoria Grabeel, climbing the trees on Box trying to impress the hot high-school boys. Needless to say, it didn't work. Though I spent a fair amount of time on the campus, I never actually imagined myself here. Then in 8th grade, it became a possibility. When I walked through the doors of Jett for freshmen orientation, I was beyond terrified. I clung to the few people I knew, scared of what was to come. Now, four years later, about to graduate, I want to cling to VES, to all the friends I have here, and to all the teachers who have made such an impact on my life. College is scary, right? Then again, I thought the same thing about high-school. But in this supposedly scary place, I've made life-long friends. Christina Dietz, Victoria Grabeel, Florian Overfelt, Sumner Higginbotham, Jenna Pierce, Courtney Carter, James Scott, Nick Peyke, Harrison Cash, Minnie Lane, how am I supposed to survive next year without you guys? No more cupcake wars, disney marathons, AP Calc struggle buses, cat Snapchats, geocaching adventures, CD exchanges, play bonding, Smallville addictions, OC hikes. I'll miss you guys.
Dr. Knebel, I hope you realize I will be emailing you weekly with Bio questions. Thanks for being the best, and thanks for making me fall in love with biology all over again. I love you to pieces, and will be visiting often. Mr. Knebel and Mr. Bonner, you'll probably be getting similar emails concerning my numerous papers.
Chris Childress, thank you for always being there, for making me laugh when I want to cry, calming me down when I want to scream, and talking me through everything. I have no idea what I would have done withoutyouthesepasttwoyears. You'remybestfriend.
And of course, to my mother and stepdad. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to go to VES, and thanks for never giving up on me. I love you both.

Thank you to two people who invested greatly in my future, Mom and Dad I couldn't have made it this far with out y'all, also than you to a wonderful girlfriend. Aly you have taught me more about my self than I have ever know. And thank you to LaF for being an amazing advisor as well as friend.
