P. 3
in this issue from the president
Dear Friends,
As spring makes its appearance in St. Louis (or in this year’s case, reappearance!), it is always a good time
for me to reflect upon the ways in which new life manifests itself in our day-to-day lives. How are we, as a
community at Cor Jesu Academy, renewing the love of the heart of Christ in our own spiritual lives as well as
those we encounter daily? And how can we make Mother Clelia’s charism unfold in new ways so that “sharing
the love of the heart of Christ” takes on a more profound or renewed presence? As I witnessed a few weeks ago,
the opportunities are bountiful!
This past February, I was privileged to travel to Rome with other representatives of the Apostle ministries from
around the world to attend a conference at which we were charged with discerning ways to best carry out Pope
Francis’ call to professed religious: to readily share the charism of their founders/foundresses, ignite the flame
of community and build the Kingdom of God here on earth. Our task was to learn from one another and grow
in our own understanding of how Clelia’s charism is spread throughout the world so we can be channels of the
charism to all with whom we minister.
16 26 21 Part of our journey included a visit to Shkodër, Albania, where the Apostles have built Cor Jesu School. Shkodër,
one of the largest cities in the country, is known as an educational and industrial hub and the center of
Catholicism in Albania, where Catholics (who make up only 10 percent of the country’s population) comprise
the majority of the city’s residents, followed by Muslims. It was so encouraging to see how the Catholic Church
