                                              Redefining COLLEGE PREP

the definition of “college prep” has taken on expanded meaning

at Cor Jesu Academy. With a consistent 60-year focus on academic
excellence coupled with a Catholic faith-rooted vision that urges
students to “transform the world through faith, integrity and
impassioned service,” Cor Jesu graduates are ready for the rigor

and self-discipline that college requires. Now, through careful
collaboration with outside partners that share a vision and
passion for forming tomorrow’s leaders, Cor Jesu has extended
student preparedness beyond college and is helping to lay a solid

foundation for their eventual careers and futures through the
                                                Corporate Partners Initiative (CpI).

                                                No Barriers to Learning
The brainchild for CPI took root in April 2012, when representatives from
Watlow, as well as nine area corporations, CJA administrators and members of the
faculty and staff brainstormed ways to launch a new frontier of learning.
With ever-increasing college tuition rates factoring as a major consideration
in students’ college decisions and majors, the group was charged with creating
a blueprint that would expose current and future CJ students to a variety of
career paths, well before applying to college. There was also one caveat: all
the CPI programs must be free of charge, ensuring that all CJ students may
participate. Thanks to corporate scholarships, funding and the commitment of
the participating corporate partners, that task has come to fruition in ways that
are not only benefiting current students, but alumnae as well.
