Two staff members retire after decades-long careers at CJA
After spending the past 36 years
welcoming visitors; caring for
students; ensuring office efficiency;
keeping track of students’
attendance; answering phone calls;
answering cold calls; fixing broken
copiers; assisting five principals,
one president and hundreds of
faculty and staff members; ordering
diplomas; sealing transcripts;
ordering supplies; and keeping a
constant pulse on the school – all
while smiling and “sharing the love
of the heart of Christ” constantly –
Margie Geraghty-Schaeffer ’67 has
retired as Cor Jesu’s longest-serving
office manager.
Back in 1981, when Mrs. Rey
retired from her post as the school
secretary, an opening for one of the
most visible high school jobs became
available. Then-principal Sr. Ellen
Cronan, ASCJ decided to reach out
to one of her former CJ students –
Margie Alsbach – to fill the role.
