A LIGHT FOR
Others
igniting curiosity
n 2006, Bridget Kelly ‘08 visited Marian Middle School
Ifor the first time at its original location at St. Anthony
of Padua. She was volunteering with some Cor Jesu friends
to help Marian move to a new building on Wyoming Street.
Marian is the only all-girls private middle school in the
St. Louis community that serves urban adolescent youth
in a faith-based environment. At the time, Bridget thought
she was simply doing some good in the community.
Little did she know, that experience would light a spark
in her, one that would burn throughout her life.
Bridget began as a freshman at Cor Jesu Academy in the fall of
2004. She was involved in a variety of activities, such as Student
Council, basketball, Spanish Club, Mock Trial, CARE, and even
had the opportunity to travel to Reynosa, Mexico, three years in
a row over spring break to build houses for the homeless.
“I wanted to do anything that I could in high school,” Bridget said. “I loved
the energy at Cor Jesu and the fact that you could do so many different things.”
Aside from her extracurricular involvement, Bridget had
a special interest in history and social studies.
