A LITTLE BIT OF
Faith
By Faith Schmidt ‘21
n January of my eighth-
grade year, I sat in a
Iroom with Cor Jesu’s
choir director, Kathleen
Pottinger, for my Cor Jesu
admissions interview. I was
13, wearing my grade school
uniform, and terrified. I was
batting .400 until she threw
me a tough question: What
opportunities do you hope
to get involved with at CJA?
I started to sweat. I did not
want to tell her that I had
little to no plans for my high
school involvement. I asked
politely if I could take some
time to think about it, but
my mind continued to blank.
After a while, we moved on,
but that tough question
stuck with me once I left the
room. I felt so embarrassed
that I had no plan for when
I got to high school. So, I
immediately created one
that I was going to stick with.
