On ~fay 21st we closed our season with au untimely defeat at the hands of Lynchburg Iligh School. Lee pitched aYery fine gamC', bnt his two bad innings, tlJC 1st and Gth, cost him the game. Lynchburg scored two nms in tbe 1st frame on the costly errors and a single by :Miller. After this, Lee held his opponents down until the Gth, when a strcnk of wildnes~ gave the Iligh School their other nm.
Figgatt, Lynchburg's pitching nee, was in fine form, and except for the 1st, held our batters at his mercy. In the 1st inning Bnc'l"ller's single with J.oth on the second sack brought in our only tally. Several excellent opportunities for scoring were wasted by failure to dcliYcr the deciding punch. In the 5th, Ba11ks' three-base smash over Barger's bead came with
