activities, namely, track and baseball.
To carry out to the utmost our possibilities in these two sports, we must enter upon them with pep and determination. If we expect to have suc- cessful teams, we cannot lazily wait until we have suffered reYerses, to begin perking up; we must strive fo-r supremacy from the very first, if we hope to develop competent aggregations in these two branches of sport.
Nor should we expect the other student to do it all ; each boy should play his part by coming out for the teams himself and by encouraging others to do the same.

Weaver put his team within 2 points of V. E. S. Chatham tied the score with a long shot only to have the home team make a spurt. Barber made good on both of his free tries, and V. E. S. started to "freeze" the ball. Sam Lee caged one and Weeks came through with a foul to put V. E. S. in the lead with a 5-point mar- gin. Then Woodberry started play- ing some good basket-ball. Alexander followed up his free shot for two points, and J ack Weaver sent a long one through the mesh. Then Alex- ander scored the deciding points. V. E.
