Another Victory For The Machine
Much to the regret of the author, more names have been added to the C"c·-expanding list of those unfor- i ;.ute offenders with whom the long arm of John Law has caught up. The Current triumph of the Machine (otherwise known as the facult{) could be t ermed a masterpiece o supe r- sleuthing, were it not for the fact that far more planning went into the offense than the capture, which was a chance favoritism on the part of
J. W. Gannerstein &Sons
One of the more lucrative of our campus enterprises is our beloved store. (J. W. Gannerstein, prop.) This (ugh) a rticle is merely a su mma ry of observations, as IOOo/o of the stu- dent body is disgustingly familiar with this business establishment. (The em- ployees and all connected with the store please note that this article is definitely written in a complimentary tone, due to the absolute indispen- sability of this institution to the stu- dent body). The keepers of this shop are hard-working individuals, one of which, it might be added, attracts more attention than the goods on sale, being somewhat of a "femme fatale.'' The other wages negotiations with efficiency worthy of a mechanical brain. (??)
The story goes that nobody under- sells Gannerstein's. This is the sub- ject of much controversy among the inmates.
The store's characterist ic order re- mains unbroken throughout the most pressing industrial crisis.
Seriously tho', he re's food for (shudder) thought! What would we weed (and otherwise) fiends do with- out this habitat of commercial trans- actions??? Would we tramp off to Peakland every day to obtain be- tween meal sustenance? O r would we have it delivered to our doorstep, for a small (?) handling fee?? Sadly enough the funds of the wretched denizens of this Lyceum of learning would be fast depleted, if this were the situation. So, ya' see, the morale of de' boys would be at its lowest ebb, were it not for this edifice of negotiations to which our hearts are endea red.
