"Abie" is now beginning his fifth
year at V. E. S. and has, in that time, been remembered by all as the con- genial, jovial, considerate boy from Roanoke. This year Barbour is serv- ing as a counselor and is one of the busiest boys on campus. He is a member and officer of the "V" Club and the G. A. A., a member of the Hop Committee and is on the Meteor staff besides serving as football man- ager. He was also our very capable basketball manager last year.
Every year Frye is at the top of the list in popularity and generosity, which are reflected in all of his deal- ings. But all good things must come to an end. Barbour will leave V. E. S. this June, having made a school-full of friends in each of his five years. We extend our best wishes for all the success in the world in coming years "Abe."

Back in the fall of nineteen forty- nine, Langhorne came to us along with about thirty new boys. His first year Langhorne played center on the hundred and thirty pound team and for the past two years has lettered twice in junior-varsity footboll. Last year he was also elected co-captain of the team. This year Langhorne is a member of the senior class and
working hard os he has always done. As of now he is undecided about where next year will be spent. Lang- horne has always gotten along well with both the faculty and the students while at V.E.S. We'll all sincerely miss the freckle-faced boy in our midst next year. In closing your sen- ior year at V.E.S., Langhorne, we'd like to wish you the best of luck in
the future.

"Spider" is now rounding out his fifth and final year here at V.E.S. Coming to us from Lynchburg, Frank has stood high in the scholastic standings every year. Among his talents is drawing and for the past two years he has been a member of the Hop Committee. On the athletic field "Spider" has earned several
junior varsity letters. Frank will be attending Hampden-Sydney College next year to further his education. W e are confident that "Spider" will fit into college life as easily as he has fitted into the life here. The Hop Committee will sorely miss his work and ideas. We'll all miss his wise- cracks and jokes too! On behalf of "The Meteor" and all the students and faculty at V.E.S. we would like to wish you the best of luck, Frank. Keep up the good work as always.
