Fishburne Military School cagers
put on a dazzling display of set shots to trounce V. E. S., 87-48, at Waynes- boro.
True, the Bishop tight zone defense was most effective--against layups. 17 players were used by Fishburne, and these made an amazing 76% of
all set shots.
The Bishops held a 7-5 lead early in
the game, only to have it hacked down to a 23-8 first quarter deficit. Only in the second quarter did the
Bishop's outscore the cadets, I0-8. Steele and Harman paced the win- ners with 14 points each, while Jimmy Davidson was high man for the
Bishops with 13 points.

out. The Bishops came into their own in the last qua rter, when they switched to a tight man-to-man defense and scored 17 points to Woodberry's 9. But even that scoring display was not enough to close the gap.
Sam Peirson led all scorers with 17 points. He also turned in a brilliant defensive job. Runner-up in scoring was Cann, of Woodberry, who drop- ped I I points through the hoop.
Fishburne Is Victorious
Fishburne Military School handed the Bishops their eighth straight de- feat here at a 67-46 clip.
First using set shots, then eluding VES's tight man-to-man defense, the cadets had a comfortable lead all through the game. Leading 35-23 at intermission, the cadets scored 32 more in the second half to the Bishops' 23.
Jimmy Davidson was high scorer for the losers with IS tallies, while Riggle of the cadets poured 16 points through to lead all scorers.
Blair Farinholt showed top offensive and defensive floor prowess for the
Bishops.
