Behind the brilliant no-hit, pitching of Blair Farinholt the Bishops swept to a 3-0 win in the season's opener over the Cadets of Fishburne. r.,rinholt struck out IS of the 22 men who faced him during the game. The first two Bishop runs were un- earned when Towe's pop up to first base was dropped, Woolery walked. Long's grounder to deep short, load- ed the bases when it was bobbled. Farinholt walked , forcing across the first run and C. R. Jones sacrificed Woolery across. Cranz's single in the fifth inning brought McGee home with the third and final run.
Queen, the Fishburne pitcher, de- served a better fate as he gave up only three hits and struck out eleven.

Righthander Dick Stobbs gave up five hits and Donnie Kern drove in
all three of Norfolk Academy's runs as the Bulldogs handed the Bishops the first loss of ihe season by a score of 3-2.
Stobbs struck out ten of the Bi s h o p s w h i l e g i v i n g u p o n l y o n e walk. V. E. S. pitchers Matthews and Dillard both looked good but were not given enough runs by their team- mates.
Kern doubled in two runs in the first inning and a sacrifice fly scored the winning tally in the fourth inning. The Bishops fought back with one run in the first and one run in the last inning, but could never get a good rally started.
