The "lpana smile" hit the school
last year despite warnings from the F. 0. G.'s that an F. F. V. wouldn't be allowed. We're all glad he showed up.
He- played J. V. football his first fall and despite the fact that this was his first year in that sport, he showed up well.
From his first month, "Rope" has had an honor roll average and has shown a real willingness t o work.
Last spring he came out from track and had good form in the broad
jump and with the javelin.
This fall he contributed a lot to the
Bishops' varsity by putting in a solid job at defensive guard or linebacker. He made a lot of tackles in crucial moments, and was one of the most reliable men on the team. Leighton showed good team spirit and we'll miss his talents next year. He got his letter and became a member of the V Club.
When spring came, he got ba:::k in shape to run the 880 and compete in the broad jump. Already he has made good, especially against Glass,
where he was clocked at 2: 15.
His conscientiousness and ability
