Frederick Reese Freyer
Three years have passed since
Frisky crossed the V.E.S. threshold. He started out well as he immedi- ately got study out and has kept above average grades. His first fall he played 130 Pound Football, where he showed up well at half back. When spring came around, he warmed up for the tennis team and began climb- ing with his good serves.
His second year, he played J.V. Football and received his letter. When he thus became a hero, he was immediately rushed by Lynchburg's Queen and only after turning away other beauties did he consent to date her. He also gave much time to the Meteor (between dates) and did a great job.
Lawrence Foushee London, Jr.
Three years have elapsed since Lawrence entered V. E. S., bringing with him two truck loads of hi-fi equipment. He worked very hard and achieved study out, even though fighting "Dirty Don's" algebra. He played 130 Pound Football, where he helped a lot as halfback. In the spring he assisted Mr. Lunsford in his work in putting on shows and so forth. He also volunteered his services and hi-fi to the V Club to use at their several dances. To keep in shape, he came down to the track and the mile
and the 880.
The next year, he lettered again in 130 Pound Football and got study out consistently. This year he ac- complished the wonder of wonders by becoming a member of the Klan (in case you didn't know, this group is the big brass of the school). Mr. Lunsford again employed his serv- ices in The Hasty Heart. Down on the track in the spring he improved greatly in the 880 and the mile.
This, his last year, has found Lugar devoting most of his time to his studies, although he has in- spired and assisted hi-fi addicts all over the school. Next fall he leaves for Carolina and we all hate to see him go.
Elliott Daingerfield Dulaney l "Duals" hotrodded it up here four
years ago under the guidance of his big brother J oe. He lettered in 130 Pound Football his first year and was on the undefeated 13 and Under Basketball team. Somebody handed him a tennis racket in the spring and he figured he'd better learn how 1o use it. Since then, he has come a long way in this sport.
His second year, he still rocked the 130's, but played 15 and Under Basketball. That year he lettered in
tennis and began shaping into a good player.
Last year he joined the choir and served on the Meteor staff, jobs which he has continued to carry on this year. "Duals" has been one of V.E.S.'s shining waiters for the pasl four years. He played 15 and Under again and then turned all his attention to tennis in the spring. He kept up his work, though, and stayed on the hon- or roll. He became fourth man on the tennis team last year and has been improving steadily.
He played J.V. Basketball this win- ter and now with the close of the tennis season, we can look back on his fin e court record.
Carolina beckons next fall and V.E.S. will have another great alumnus there.
W arm weather found him
ing tennis again and that spring he started really showing his talent. Dur- ing his off hours, he assisted Mr. Lunsford with his Variety Show.
This year, with his favorite date off at school, Frisky has seemed a bit lonesome, but he has been extremely active-especially on dorm where he ru ns the Spotlight Tavern. He has continued his good work for the Meteor and has been carrying his senior subjects well.
Next fa ll Sewanee calls we'll all be pulling for him.
