J.Y .'s OPEN SEASON WITH ROCKHILL VICTORY
The Jayvees opened their 1964 campaign on a successful note as they defeated Rockhill Academy of Char- lottesville 6-0 in the rain. It was a
hard fought game, which sow many penalties. The Bishops were led by a sparkling newcomer, quarterback Bruce Cunningham, and fullback David Yarborough.
The lone score of the game came ·n the second quarter when Cunning- ham scooted eight yards up the center of the line, capping a sixty yard drive.
Play was centered around mid- field during the third quarter, but as the final period started, so did the Bishops. They began a drive from their own forty-five and penetrated to the visitors' fifteen when a penalty curbed their progress.
Tcwards the end of the game, Rock Hill made its only serious threat. With less than five seconds to play,
they completed a pass on the Bishops' five yard line. The clock ran out, but a oenalty against the Bishops gave Reck Hill a last play. V. E. S. victory W
