Big Jim Treadwell has compiled quite a record for himself in the two years that he has been here. To start with, he lettered in varsity football and then wrestled that winter. Last spring, he threw the shot but didn't
letter.
A counselor this year, he playeo both offense and defense on the foot- ball team. J im was co-captain of the newly-formed soccer team this winter. And now that it's warm, J im throw~ the shot, and has lettered in it.
He has been consistently high in the senior class. Jim portrayed · 8''1y Budd" in the Broadway version given by the Drama Society. He is a traveled man, and has even surfed ·n Hawaii. This fall he goes into the

Dick came to us last year and as a re~ult of his great ability and stern 1/ll was made a counselor and given "the hole" to govern with a strong paddle.
In the fall Dick has bEien seen on the football field where he won a varsity letter this year. He has, on occasion, appeared in the G.A.A. helping to make chaos out of order. By far the greatest achievement of our William and Mary bound Senior has been in the literary field. Dick is Layout Editor of both the "V estige" and Meteor as well as the creator of MODINE. For these outstanding achievements he was chosen a charter member of Quill and Scroll.

Ted came to V.E.S. five years ago and has been working hard ever since, although he has had trouble in math since he first took Huckleberry's
Math in the eighth grade. Even with Tom's Trig, T ed has compiled a splendid academic record this yea r ranking third in the class lost month.
Craddock has done much to sup· port athletics by playing 135 and J.V. foctball, J.V. basketball, J.V. ba:;eball, track, and soccer in which he lettered this year.
Ted has been an ardent supporter of the school, attending many away athletic contest and being a contribu- ior to the Meteor. Ted will follow brother George to Washington and Lee next year.

Bate followed his big brother's
footsteps when he came to V.E.S. two years ago. That autumn he played J.V. football where he gained the ex- perience that helped him win a start- ing offensive guard position this year. Small but tough Bate knocked open many a hcle for Shanklin t o plow through. He has been the wrestling manager for two years.
When the spring comes, Bate be- comes a star. Seve al times he saved golf matches for V.E.S. with his ac- curate putting. This year he has al- ready been a medalist (lowest scorer).
Bate is going to UNC this fall.
