Vestry Directs Chapel
Affairs, Gives Money For Worthy Purposes
The Vestry, headed by Senior Warden Rhae Adams and counselled by Vicar Allen, capably maintained its role as the directing body in all chapel affairs. Not only did this position involve the basic, mechanical functions of coilecting tithes in Sunday services, replacing worn hymnals, and obtaining pledge slips from students, but it also served as a liaison between V.E.S. and the world around it. In this capacity the Vestry utilized its budget to aid such benevolent organizations as the United Giver's Fund. A sum was also appropriated to financially aid a hospital in Kenya. With this type of interaction with the world outside the immediate environment
of the school, the Vestry was a channel through which each student could constructively direct his attention to world problems.
