Latin Club Journeys To Italy, Visits Rome
9
In connection with
the Latin Club, a school organization
which is concerned with the study of ancient classical cultures and which is sponsored by Mr. Meador, nineteen V.E.S. students visited Italy
during Spring Vacation. Leaving from
Dulles Airport on March 20, they spent two days in Naples and then moved on to the Eternal City, where they viewed such typically Roman sights as
the Colosseum, the ruins of the Circus Maximus,
the Pantheon, and Hadrian's Tomb. In addition to this, they heard the Pope's Easter message at the Vatican. Staying at a hotel where
other high school Latin students were stationed,
these trip members well represented
the V.E.S. spirit abroad.
