Students Examine The History Of Music And Its Role In Our Lives
Mr. Blake's Music History and Appreciation class offered insight and guidance into the world of music and its role in our lives. Beginning in ancient Greece, it traced the effects of music's great men and their works. Mr. Blake's vast musical knowledge and talent provided vivid illustration for a better learning and
a greater appreciation of this field. A new aspect of the course was the student exchange with Seven Hills School, which offered diversity in opinion and class discussion. The trend throughout, characterized by individual research, led to a thorough understanding of the subject.
Chip Penick, Lucy Bryan, and Neal Partrick enjoy a Beethoven symphony in music history class.
Dick Trotman and John Wagstaff are aided by Mr. Blake as they research the lives of composers for their term reports.
