Bible Seminar Focuses On Current Problems
Under the direction of the Reverend Gordon Allen, Bible and Related Studies
made several significant modifications
this year.
The title Religious Instruction
was changed to
Bible and Related Studies,
primarily to place more emphasis on studies not contained in the Bible,
but directly related to it.
For example,
the study of ancient civilizations
and their cultures assisted in explaining events in the Bible.
To assure his students
of the Bible's relevance to twentieth century life, Mr. Allen offered a weekly seminar
in which a general discussion
allowed the students to express their own convictions and ideologies.
