one time or another, encompass- ed every runner, yet everyone has persevered. The top four runners, Tom Bauer, Chris Dirom, Randy Meador, and Gar·
rett Jeter have all taken turns finishing in the top spot in one race or another. Survivors of
early practice, Matt "Disco" Matthews and Jimbo Farmer, plus recruits from the J.V.'s, W alter Blades and Frank Moore have added the needed depth.
Coach Somerville also com· mends the sacrifice and hard work by managers Dave "Funk" White and Eric Supetran.
When asked about some memorable moments thus far, coach Somerville cited the following: the slaughter of RMA by his Harriers, the team's best
effort and dedication at the Nor- folk Academy meet, the detour to North Carolina on the way back from Norfolk, Matt Mat· thews' versions of disco break,
the return trip from HMA where the team was almost swept way by flood and killed by
hail, the sacrifice of Or. Funk on the Norfolk trip, and the sundae winners Dirom, Blades, and White.
Good Iuck for the res.t of the year and GO HARRIERS!II

opportunity for victory. The, defense for a while showed its'
formidable ability, however, the offense failed to capitalize on

Academy, the Bishop started out troog. Due to '"poradic
breaks against the Bishop , Nor- folk Academy left the field with 22 points to the Bi hop 0. In the

important positions, as quoted by Coach Lee. Coach Lee feels he has played two weaker teams on the schedule, and now faces powerhouses such as Wood-
berry. St. Chris and Colligiate.
Coach Lee says that "One good
win could get us started but we
obviously must play 90% better football."
