Casino Night - Everyone's AWinner
by Rebecca Todd
Win it or lose it all, every- one had a blast. Craps, poker, roulette, Mr. Watson's number game, you name it, VES had it all. Las Vegas, Reno, Lake Tahoe and Atlantic City could- n' t compare to Lynchburg on February 26,1994. The beauti- ful dresses on the girls were exquisite. Sequins and beads in every color of the rainbow adorned the usual baggy- jeaned, flannel-shirted stu- dents. The handsome gu ys wore rented tuxedos that were mostly black with brightly col- ored vests. Jonathan Fuller and Doug Finlay were excep- tions, with their pastel colored suits and dark glasses. Dinner before ranged from called-in pizza to reservations such as Kyotos and Cafe France.
Prizes for the top ten money winners varied from gift certificates for R.E.I. a n d J. Crew to a Sony discrnan. Liz

Casino Night this year was a difficult event to schedule. A severe ice storm ruined the first attempt on February 12 and it was a challenge to find another date that would not interfere with the sports schedule. Finally, the Sunday before exams was chosen, and the students were even pre- pared to have a candlelight Casino Night if the lights went out that night. A lot of thanks has to go to the people who made this happen. Mrs. Zimmer was the backbone of the entire event. The rnern-

Why do grown men and women actually spend their time worrying about whether or not teenagers wear belts?
The reason for this is because the teachers are selfish, miserly, greedy, stingy, and rapacious, because they want all the crackers for themselves. U they force the students to go back to dorm to get a belt, then obviously they will get the rest of the scrumptious Saltines. To clarify any misconception that a few teachers have, we will
