VContinue to invest in athletics as a critical component of community, character building, and the St. Albans experience.
The tradition of mens sana in corpore sano — a sound mind in a sound body — is a foundational element of a St. Albans educa- tion. Athletics enable our students to learn valuable lessons about teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship; to build relationships with adults and students they otherwise might not get to know; to exercise every day; and to learn and practice lifelong habits of fitness. Athletics are an important rallying point for community spirit and pride and teach the benefits of hard-fought competition whether culminating in victory or defeat.
Athletics
“Our IAC banners reflect championships, but more importantly they manifest honest effort and a joy in realizing the most in one’s team and oneself. Sports are incredibly valuable tools for building self-awareness and self-knowledge as well as building strength and instilling in boys the value of exercising — working up
a sweat — every day.”
