May 28-The "Whites," captained W eb Maddux, edged out George Lewis's 'Garnets," 114-105, in
V. E. S.'s annual field day.
Brown Finch and Jimmy Mac-
Leod led the victors with 18 and 170 points respectively. Fred Ogden was high man for the losers with four firsts and a fifth for a total of 24
points.
In the junior field day, Gene Cor-
nett's "Garnets," took Hal Jackson's "Whites" for a ride to the tune of 47- 41. John Thomas with 23 for the Whites and Charles Brooks with 14 for the Garnets were high scorers for the juniors.
But dS the smoke of the battle cleared, the Whites led 155-152 to take the '48 field day.
