Pet Love-Dragging a Weed.

Here it is Bill's fifth year up here (Wow!). Last year, he was appointed to the Honor Committee, a post call- ing for great intelligence and judg- ment, and has fulfilled everyone's ex- pectations in his capable handling of this job.
He lettered in J. V. Baseball last yeor, and will probably repeat the performance again this season. Mouse has his picturesque side too. Among the many experiences of his shady past include a penalty for inferno on dorm and a list of infamous room- mates such as Tony-o Waddell-o.
A hard worker and a great guy, Mouse seems like a fixture around here. It won't seem right without him in '56 '57. We will miss him when he dons his Ivy Leagues and heads for Harvard next year.
Name: James Mullen White-{Jay) Born: Boy-What?, Virginia.

what a wheel he is.

Jay's been kicking around the cam- pus for about four years now, and has made a good record in that time. Last June, after a year of guidance by Rangoon on Third West, he was appointed Head Counselor. In this, the highest and hardest position in school, he is doing a fine job.
Jay's athletic career has been va- ried. His first year, he managed the 130 Pound Team, but the next year he gave everybody a break and played for them. In his Junior year, Joy earned his letter as manager of V arsity Football. H e hos also man- aged track for "Dirty Den's" boys. In addition to his other accomplish- ments, he has distinguished himself this year as head cheer leader, and
looks fetching in a coon skin cap. Always a steady on both the Head-
master's List and the popularity list,
Name: Alexander Nathan Chaffin {Birdman).
Born: No! Hatched!
Lives: Here, there, and everywhere.
Pet Love: Cutting anybody up.
Pet Peeve: Algebra-again and again and again.
Ambition-To have a cottage on the campus of R.-M. W. C.
When Alex first appeared around the Ole 160 three years ago, he was quickly noticed for his friendly spirit and sarcostic wit. He went out for basketball and track and lost year lettered in basketball, where he was one of the highest scorers on 1he court. No one was surprised when he was elected to the Honor Commit- tee this year, a position in which he has already shown his abilities.
He is vice-president of the V Club and his presence on the basketball team will be welcomed again this year. He will be leading the crew to Carolina next fall, where we all wish him the best of luck.
