BISHOPS LOSE HEART-BREAKER TO FORESTERS, 46-43
Ahead almost tf·e entire game, the Bishops faltered in the dying minutes of the contest and the Foresters, led by Johnny O'Bannon, capitalized on every break to edge a spirited V. E. S. squad 46-43.
Woodberry jumped to a 6-0 lead early in the first quarter, but big Jim Shanklin pumped three straight in and at the end of the period V. E. S. was a h e a d 12-10. Brilliant work in the second period and jump shots by Frank Craighill put V. E. S. ahead 23-19.
In the third period the Bishops and the Foresters traded basket for basket and the score stood at 37-34, still in the Bishops' favor.
But then disaster struck. George Ross and Jimmy Dillon fouled out and the Bishops lost their poise. Johnny
O 'Bannon, the Forester forward, popped seven big points through the hoop and that proved the undoing of V. E. S. The gun sounded and the score stood 46-43, Woodberry For- est taking the laurels.
Frank Craiqhill was high with 17 and Jimmy Dillon had I0.

BISHOPS BOW TO WOODBERRY 64-52
Woodberry Forest, hitting the hoop with amazing accuracy, built up an insurmountable lead early in the game and then fought off a deter- mined Bishop squad to win 64-52.
In the first period Johnny O'Ban-
non and Glynn of the Foresters pump-
ed in shot after shot to move ahead
20-15. The seco nd period was a
repetition of the first and found the
score 36-25. Coach Lee then ordered
a man to man defense, but this
didn't seem to stop the invaders as
the score after three periods stood
52-31. In the last quarter, led by
Frank Craighill and Jimmy Dillon, the
Bishops made a gallant try to catch
Woodberry, but they didn 't have
enough steam. Frank Craighill was
high for V. E. S. with 23 and Dillon
had 16. O'Bannon for Woodberry

E. H. S. TOPPLES BISHOPS 46-37
V. E. S. had a two point lead of 23-1 1 at the end of the first half and then fell victim to their "third period jinx" again as they were outscored
17-6 by E. H. S. and were never able to catch up.
V. E. S. jumped to a 17-13 lead after one period of play on nifty shots by George Ross and Frank Craighill. Both teams had trouble finding the rungs in the second stanza as they could only muster fifteen points between them.
But in the fatal third period, led by Midgette, the ace E. H. S. guard, Episcopal High pulled away t o a 39-29 bulge. Playing slow down tac- tics in the last quarter, they held on to their lead and won. High for V. E. S. was Frank Craighill with 18. Midgette was high for V. E. S. with 16.
