Growing & Stewarding Cor Jesu’s New Space

ACADEMICS
• Four New Active-learning Classrooms | August 2017
Cor Jesu’s new building addition includes four state-of-the-art active-learning classrooms. Three existing classrooms will be
equipped with new technology and flexible furniture this summer.
• S.E.E. (Summer Engineering Experience) | June 2018
Cor Jesu students who took part in the 2018 S.E.E. Week made their case-study presentations to the engineering firm
representatives in the Law & Leadership classroom.
FINE ARTS
• Renovated Fine Arts Center | First Semester 2018
The space behind the stage in the auditorium that once housed the athletic offices and weight room will be renovated into
music classrooms and a rehearsal studio. The current art room will be expanded to double its current size.
ATHLETICS
• Hosted Volleyball Tournament, Basketball Jamboree, Two Basketball Tournaments | Fall & Winter 2017-18
• Hosted first-ever Cor Jesu Catholic Cup Lacrosse Tournament for seven other Catholic high schools | Spring 2018
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
• Alumnae I.N.C. Networking Event | January 4, 2018
Representatives from 27 companies/organizations, 21 professional coaches, speakers and 80 college-aged CJ alumnae
participated in the second annual Cor Jesu Alumnae I.N.C. Networking Event.
• Vianney Basketball Team & De Smet Volleyball Team | Winter 2018
Both schools used CJ’s new gym while their gyms were being used for their respective auctions.
• “The New Tax Law & How It Affects You” Presentation | April 24, 2018
Nearly 150 people from Cor Jesu and the St. Louis area attended the public event held in the commons and new
classrooms for valuable information about the 529 expansion and other financial information.
• Summer Camps | June & July 2018
Enrichment and Volleyball and Basketball campers enjoyed the new classrooms, gym and dance studio for the first time.
Passports Around the World campers used the Law & Leadership classroom to connect with people in China!
• Milwaukee Service Trip Volunteers | June 24-29, 2018
Volunteers from two Milwaukee parishes “camped out” at Cor Jesu during their mission trip in St. Louis.
