“I love going to concerts
for many reasons, but
there is one specifically.
The main reason I love
going to concerts is
because I feel like ev-
eryone comes together
there and everyone is
so nice. I saw this spe-
cifically at the Harry
concert… everyone was
so nice and compli-
menting each other and
hyping each other up. The Harry Styles concert to me felt like an out of this world experience… it
did not feel real at all and it just seems like a dream. Post-concert depression definitely hit hard the
next morning after the concert.”

Throughout the ages, people
have always been drawn to
music. The girls here at Cor
Jesu are no exception. Music
has evolved a lot since its first
origination way back in the
Geometric Period. From bird
calls, to the Classical Era, to now, music has shaped many people’s lives. The first official concert
on record that brought people together was a violinist named John Banister in 1672. Since
then, hundreds of thousands of concerts have been performed. When talking to sophomore
student Maggie Larrigan about the Harry Styles concert, she said, “Running three miles is
much less tiring than going to any concert, especially the Harry Styles concert.” Live shows are
not the only way to listen to music though; streaming music is another popular option. There are
so many different apps right at our fingertips that provide a more accessible, convenient way of
listening. Streaming music gives listeners access to any songs at any time and at any place.
When streaming music, one can shuffle through many different artists whereas, at concerts, the
audience is only listening to one artist. Whether listening to music in the car or going to a con-
cert, music is good for the soul. It allows us to take a break from the chaotic world and enjoy
our favorite beats and melodies.
