     1 1: Defeat Procrastination
               : D
Procrastination. Also known for many as their worst enemy. Procrastination can be something that is
extremely hard to overcome, but we need to remind ourselves that it is only going to cause more stress
onto our lives. When you procrastinate, you waste time that you could be investing in something more
meaningful, such as completing productive work. Recent studies have shown that 80-90 percent of stu-
                                                     dents engage in
procrastination. In addition, feelings of regret and guilt resulting from missed opportunities tend to stay
with people much longer. One prime way to avoid procrastinationn is to avoid distractions. You have the
power to manage your work environment, and simply just putting your phone away and other personal
distractions can make all the difference. Another way to combat procrastination is to make a “to-do” list.
This is something that has helped me greatly, as I feel satisfied every time I am able to check off a task.
When we procrastinate, we tend to avoid harder tasks, as we try to put off the negative feelings we think
we might come across. Doing the complete opposite and starting with harder tasks can allow us to feel
more accomplished and create a positive mindset for future tasks. All in all, procrastination is hard to
combat, but if we work on it little by little, it can save us from feeling frustration, guilt, and stress.
