Summer Fashion and Trend

                                         Forecasting

By Ainsley Burns ‘22 and Lilly Aboussie ‘22

Fashion: it’s one of the most diverse and fast growing industries in the world. With that said, it can be hard to
keep up with the never-ending trends that continue to cycle in year after year. That’s where Ainsley Burns and I
come in. In our podcast episode, we discuss trend-forecasting, as well as many other topics regarding fashion
        and trends.

Trend-forecasting is like meteorology, but for clothes. Ainsley and I break down some essential summer trends
that continue to persist year after year and analyze what models and influencers have been wearing at the
various fashion weeks across the world. Drawing inspiration from pop culture and natural instincts, we predict
what we will be seeing people donning come June.

In addition to our trend-forecasting, we successfully went off on informational tangents about the fits worn by
those attending Coachella and Revolve Festival hosted by online-shopping powerhouse Revolve. We choose our
favorites and least favorites, critiquing with the same energy as Anna Wintour. Ainsley and I also discussed the
recently announced Met Gala theme and our excitement toward the event. We truly have high hopes for the
looks the celebs will be serving.

Trend-forecasting is just a mere hobby that Ainsley and I have taken up, though there are many self-pro-
claimed “professionals” attempting to predict the trends for each upcoming season. No matter your thoughts
on or experiences with fashion, I encourage everyone to experiment with one’s outfits, remembering that
your style should be uniquely you. No matter what the current trend may be, remember the fashion industry’s
roots: promoting individuality and expression for all.
