During his first season on the Mens Varsity Team, Janse quickly made a name for himself and was named Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year. Janse then went on to be named a Centennial Conference Honor Roll member for three consecutive seasons and prior to his Junior year, Janse was named Team Captain. During the summer of his Junior year, Janse served as a Student-Athlete Ambassador to Khayelitsha, South Africa where he worked with local children and young adults to develop them as both athletes and citizens. Carrying a double major in Chemistry and Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Janse also excelled in the classroom. Throughout his time at F&M, Janse was a member of several honor societies including Ben Rush Medical Honor Society, Eta Sigma Pi, Delphic Honor Society and Alumni Leaders of Tomorrow. Janse served as a Peer Advising Group Leader as well as a volunteer at the Walter Street Mission Homeless Shelter. In addition to graduating cum laude, Janse was also commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy upon completing the Officer Development School in Newport, RI.
