Dowler Award recipient. IRISEach year, the Lower School honors a member of the Greensboro Day School community with the Carla D. Dowler Award. This award was established to honor someone who touches Lower School students lives and fits the following criteria: values kindness and sensitivity MALLORYto others; reflects a determination to succeed; exemplifies a love for learning; and embodies an abiding respect for teaching and being with children.Mrs. Hare is known for her calm and soothing presence, as a teacher who seeks to ensure all students feel represented, loved, and accepted, along with being an incredibly talented SOPHIEmusician and educator.Mrs. Hare is married to her husband Greg and they have two daughters, Evelyn and Lydia.At the ceremony, fourth graders Brant Richardson 28, Mallory Pitts 28, Iris Holdren 28, and Sophie Montana 28 gave speeches about the school year.46 | Summer 2020'
