14 | Winter 2018 AP Physics students tested their knowledge of Newton’s Law of Motion through a mallet ball competition in class. Thank you to the PE Department for hosting“Take your parents to PE week” in the Lower School. Parents enjoyed experiencing the benefits of participating in PE three times a week! Ask them about the bear crawls, crab walks, and competitive games of mobile goal!  7th and 8th graders had a chance to hear from Reggie Dillard ’13. He spoke about his time as a student-athlete at Greensboro Day School and Presbyterian College, and what he will do next. He emphasized the importance of education, developing good study habits, his teammates, and teachers. Editor’s note: Reggie is now playing professional basketball in Finland. Will Hayes ’19 and Drew Palmer ’19 received the Patrick B. Palmer Award. This announcement was made at the Triad Cup Soccer Tournament.  The award, named for Drew’s father who passed away in 2012, honors student-athletes who“exemplify many of the traits that Pat exemplified through his extraordinary life: leadership, passion, selflessness, academics, inspiration, and service.”  Lower School students visited the outdoor classroom and pond during science classes. The ability to take an educational field trip without ever leaving campus is part of our unsurpassed facilities! Bengal
