8th grade students enjoyed their annual trip to Hanging Rock State Park. They spent time completing a reflective writing in a natural environment, in preparation for an upcoming English assignment. Students also learned about the geology of the area and applied topographic map reading skills they have been practicing in Earth Science. The Character and Ethics Committee brought Kelsey Tainsh back to GDS to speak to students throughout the divisions. Her message reminded us that everyone is fighting some type of battle and when we choose to be better instead of bitter, it benefits everyone. Carson McCorkle ’21 competed in the Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina as a member of the 3x3 youth basketball team.
