#CoachJ1K Congratulations to Coach Freddy Johnson on winning his 1,000th career basketball game as the head coach of the Greensboro Day School varsity boys’basketball team.  Coach Johnson won his 1,000th game on Saturday, November 25 vs. Vance High School.   Coach Johnson became the 20th high school boys’basketball coach to reach this milestone, joining the likes of Steve Smith (Oak Hill) and Morgan Wootten (Dematha High School).  The all-time record is 1,333 wins held by Robert Hughes (TX). Coach Johnson is in his 41st year as the boys’basketball head coach.  He has won a record 9 NCISAA state championships, a record 25 PACIS conference championships and is the winningest coach in North Carolina history for boys’basketball.  Coach Johnson was inducted into the NC Sports Hall of Fame in May of 2016 and was named the BallisLife National Coach of the Year for the 2016-17 season.  Congratulations, Coach Johnson!
