GDS Magazine | 35 Participating members of the GDS community include: Mayor Nancy Vaughan, mother to Catherine Vaughan ’19, and Mayor of Greensboro and a long- time Greensboro civic leader. Libby Ramsey, mother to Scott Ramsey ’27, Margot Ramsey, ’29, and Jenna Ramsey ’32, owner of Dancing Dogs Yoga and community leader. Liz Summers, mother to Lauren Summers ’25, President of Advancing Leadership Consulting, Inc. and member of the Women’s Professional Forum. She was an integral part of bringing the Girls Leadership Edge curriculum to GDS. Kim Roberts, mother to Eli Roberts ’20, and the founder of the Little Red Jumpsuit Tour whose mission is to celebrate, encourage and lift-up women on their individual journeys to wellness. Jada Monica Drew, an international social justice activist, educator, and speaker. She is the author of More Than Enough: Step into your Next Level of Leadership, which all participants read during the course. She consults with GDS on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts. The community of students, parents, faculty/staff and alumni is what makes Greensboro Day School truly a special place. Girls for Girls: Leadership Edge is one example of the powerful impact this community can have on creating the next generation of constructive contributors to the world.
