42 | Summer 2018 SCHOOL CLOSING ALL The All School Closing Ceremony was held on Tuesday, June 5. The Class of 2018 walk in with their Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten buddies to cheers and applause, as the entire school comes together to celebrate another year. The Greensboro Day School Alumni Association recognizes two employees with the Extra Yard Award. This award, established in 2000 is presented to a teacher or staff member who goes “above and beyond” to impact another person’s life, a program or their community. Congratulations to Mrs. Beth Dunbar, 8th grade English and Mr. Calvin Davenport, Security who were announced as the 2018 Extra Yard Award recipients. Senior members of the yearbook class thanked Ms. Wendy Lavine for her dedication and service as the 2017-18 yearbook advisor. The 2018 issue of the Prowler yearbook was dedicated to Mrs. Susan Doss, Registrar and Mr. Calvin Davenport, Security. Executive Council President, Cynthia Cote ’18 officially closed out the school year by chiming the bell 48 times to symbolize 48 incredible years. She was joined by Saavan Patel ’30 to wish everyone a happy summer.
