GDS Magazine | 39 The 11th Annual Bengal Dash was held April 14, 2018 during the Greensboro Day School Alumni Weekend, with 235 runners participating in 3 events. This year, we raised nearly $14,000 that will go directly back to GDS for service learning 11th Annual Bengal Dash projects. The money raised benefits the Greensboro Day School Philanthropy Council. Students from all divisions are able to write grants for funds that they will give back to the community in many different ways. The Philanthropy Council, consisting of students, teachers and parents review the grants and award the money raised each year by the Bengal Dash. We had amazing support from GDS families and the community through sponsorships, volunteers and event day promotions! Orangetheory Fitness began the day’s events with warm ups for all runners while Bengal Town offered fun games for the children. Every child 12 and under received a participation medal after running, and we had great prizes for every age group. A special thanks to our sponsors for their generosity: • Diamond Sponsors: Alison McMillian Orthodontics, Wade Jurney Homes, Piedmont Retina Specialists, Dr. Jason Sanders • Platinum Sponsor: Texwipe • Gold Sponsors: The Hammouri family, Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists, and Oxner & Permar • Silver Sponsors: Fleet Feet Sports, Forbis & Dick Funeral Services, Ward Black Law • Bronze Sponsors: A to Zen, Coltrane & Overfield, Dancing Dogs Yoga Greensboro, E3 Endurance, Got You Floored, Orangetheory Fitness, Roskelly Management, and The Fresh Market. We look forward to seeing you at the Bengal Dash next year!
