Jackie is a member of the USBP Consequence Delivery Team within the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Their recognition is for developing the sector web application portal which helps to significantly reduce data entry and time developing charts for the Consequence Delivery System, a CBP post- apprehension analysis tool. Jackie Bollini ’91 Jon Olin published his first book titled, 22 Feet. The book is about a brotherhood of young men, a dynamic coach, and an unforgettable season filled with triumph and heartache. 22 Feet is the incredible true story of the 1992 Davidson College men’s soccer team. Sally is the author of two previous chapbooks, as well as two full-length poetry books from Mayapple Press. A poetry editor for the Baltimore Review, she lives in Columbia, Maryland, with her husband and sons. She was chosen, along with 5 other GTCC students, to compete in the Web Design portion of the competition. Their team finished in 4th place. The competition for Skills USA was held at the Greensboro Coliseum in April. CLASSNOTES 1989 Michael Brumback and Jenny Parker were married on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Riverside Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville, FL. The wedding party included Scott Windham ’89 and Mark Dransfield ’89. They will honeymoon in Greece in September and reside in the San Marco area of Jacksonville, FL. His book is about playing out your “poker hand of life” (which consists of birthplace, family, childhood, early education, etc., up to age 16 or 18–over which you have little or no control) to the best of your ability in order to live the most fulfilling version of your life possible. Gus, Maggie, and Poppy Coleman, children of Alice Jackson Coleman ’95 GDS Alumnus, Nic Brown ’95 reunited with ‘Athenaeum’ for a 1 time 20 year reunion performance on Saturday, April 7 at The Ramkat, a new concert hall and community performance space located in Winston-Salem’s Entertainment District. Athenaeum celebrated the 20th anniversary release of their 1998 major label debut Radiance with this special, one-time-only reunion show. Gathering on stage together for the first time in more than a dozen years, founding members Mark Kano, Alex McKinney, and Nic Brown were joined by Mike Garrigan exactly twenty years to the release date of Radiance. Released by Atlantic Records, Radiance featured the top-ten modern rock single “What I Didn’t Know,” the top-forty modern rock single “Flat Tire,” and brought this Greensboro-based alternative rock band critical and commercial success across the globe, topping charts in places as far flung as the Philippines. Nowhere was Athenaeum more popular than in their home state, North Carolina, however, and their Winston-Salem shows were always favorites of the band and fans alike. Shout out to GDS Alumnus and “Athenaeum Insider,” John Fields ’97, who is a longtime friend and early supporter of the band who has served in many roles, from booking agent and promoter to strategic consultant.
