The team was composed of mostly juniors and seniors with 3 underclassmen who played on both the Junior Varsity and Varsity teams. The record does not reflect all of the hard work that this team put in all season. The girls are excited about the next season and continuing to change the culture of the program. VARSITY GIRLS’ FIELD HOCKEY: The Varsity Girls’ Field Hockey team had a successful season this year. The team was composed of both veteran players who have been in the program for years and brand new players who just picked up the sport this season. With dedication, hard work and lots of fun the girls ended the season with a record of 9-8. The team also made it to the second round of NCISAA Playoffs, which hasn’t happened since 2009. Goalie, Stephanie Kesselring ’17 was selected to play in the North Carolina All Star game in November. The team is already looking forward to next season and eager to add new players to the team. VARSITY GIRLS’ GOLF: The Varsity Girls’ Golf team had a great year of growth and development decreasing scores from the beginning of the year. This year’s team was led by seniors Taylor Bair and Nan Perry who provided encouragement and a positive attitude to all players. The team is very young, returning five players and we look forward to next year’s success. VARSITY GIRLS’ TENNIS: The Varsity Girls’ Tennis team finished with a solid record of 7-7 going (6-0) in conference beating division rivals Wesleyan Christian Academy who won the conference last year. The team added two new starters, Tenley Parr ’21 and Caroline Doss ’20 who were huge assets this season. As this team continues to grow, we look forward to next season and seeing what this talented group of players can do with three long-time players: Clarke Phillips ’18, Lauren Whitley ’18, and Olivia Shoener ’18 who will enter their Senior year.
