Jennifer Connors Coby ’99 with Lucas ’29 Brittain Knight Mehler ’01 with Gray ’29 The 5th Annual Bengal Legacy Sundae was again a success. This event honored alumni who have a new student entering Bitty Bengals, Junior Kindergarten and/ or Kindergarten. Other local alumni and their families joined in the event to learn what it is like to send their legacy to GDS. Complete with a moon-bounce and ice cream sundaes, 27 alumni families enjoyed themselves while their children and future GDS alumni played. Thank you to Phil and Elizabeth Harrington Payonk ’97 for opening up their beautiful home for this event! Tim Murphy ’00 with Hayes ’30 Emily Siar ’10 visited campus: Emily visited campus on Monday, May 16. She spent her time teaching a master class for some of the US singers and worked with the cabaret class. Emily attended UNC-Chapel Hill on an opera scholarship and has studied and traveled extensively as an opera artist, and is currently working on her graduate degrees at Eastman School of Music. Alumni Field Hockey Game: On Tuesday, August 16, we held the first ever Alumni Field Hockey Game. 8 alumni came back to take on the current varsity team. Emily sitting Katie Hendrix ’09 visited campus: Katie visited campus to show her new film, Five Grand, in which she was the Executive Producer. Five Grand will be available via a streaming service soon! She also visited with students, leading them in an Improv class in which she passed along the knowledge she has obtained since moving to LA and acting. New York Alumni Legacy & Leadership Dinner: Alumni in the New York Area gathered on November 11th for dinner with Mark Hale and Tommy Webb. This dinner was hosted by GDS Alumna Lynn Callicott Baranski ’84. Other attendees included: Kara Medoff Barnett ’96, Molly Hassenfelt ’03, Lauren Cohen ’08, Edward Harrington ’00, Lisa Doughten ’85, Noni Thomas Lopez ’90, and Carl Cohen ’02.
