8 | Summer 2017 The Yearbook Staff organized an All School photo this spring. Several 7th grade students have been working on a collaborative project between Greensboro Day School and Tessa Farm to Fork Restaurant. Pictured left to right, Henry Wilcox, Simeon Reich, and Parker Stroud have worked to develop and build planters, grow microgreens, harvest, trim, wash, and package the greens for Tessa. Middle and Upper School students organized a Spring Festival Celebration in recognition of the Chinese New Year. Students from all divisions, parents, and faculty participated in several activities including Chinese calligraphy and paper cutting, wrapping and enjoying delicious dumplings, a chopstick challenge, and learning more important Chinese traditions! The 8th grade traveled to Washington, D.C. to explore history, science, art, and more! They are pictured here at the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial. The 5th Annual Learning 2 Lead Academy was held on Wednesday, February 1. Upper School Student leaders planned this conference as part of Ms. Chrissy Olson’s ’85 Winter Term Class. Students participated in sessions detailing communication, leadership through visual exploration and values. 90 middle school students from seven area schools attended including Canterbury School, Greensboro Day School, High Point Friends School, Noble Academy, Mendenhall, Northwest, and Our Lady of Grace.
