Her genuine interest in getting to know each student made me feel valued and special, yet also accountable for my actions both in and out of the classroom - An amazing combo every high schooler needs! She was always open, always listening, and always on your team. A remarkable teacher and a true friend.” – Rebecca Barger Sheaff ’03 “Suffice it to say that Kathy meant the world to me as a student and she had an impact on me that I have never forgotten.” – Mark Dransfield ’89 “Kathy was one of the people that made GDS special, and she has influenced the lives of 1,000’s of graduates. She helped me come to love math in particular, and school in general, which has served me well for a subsequent career in academia.” – Ned Sharpless ’84 GDS Magazine | 59
